Volunteer
Volunteers are vital to the success of the Health Centre!
We can’t provide the services and programs that we do without help from the community. We value our volunteers and hope that each individual learns and benefits from their experience as much as we do.
We invest time and energy to ensure our volunteers have meaningful experiences and make special connections through their time at the Health Centre. We also are dedicated to providing high-quality programs and services for our clients. Therefore we ask individuals to make the same investment in our volunteer program by offering a minimum 1-year time commitment for each position.

Our Various Volunteer Positions

Food Security Volunteer
The Food Coalition volunteer plays a vital role in combatting food insecurity for London community members. This role involves picking up weekly produce donations every Tuesday morning from the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre and delivering them to London InterCommunity Health Centre sites. Volunteers assist in packing client bags with selected produce at the Huron site, ensuring the produce is distributed equitably and efficiently. These bags are then delivered to the Argyle and Dundas sites for client access. Additionally, volunteers complete tracking forms to support program evaluation and engage in recipe development.

North East London Community Engagement
North East London Community Engagement (NELCE) has been an integral part of the North East London community since 2006. As a re-branded and resident-driven, action oriented group, NELCE is committed to strengthening and improving the community through promoting community pride, fostering personal growth, and encouraging leadership. Our vision is to engage residents in a continuum of participation, from joining our programs and events, to volunteering, and ultimately taking on leadership roles.

Women of the World Peer Leader
As a Peer Leader, you will play a crucial role in supporting women from identified ethno-cultural groups who may be isolated, marginalized, or struggling with integration. Your primary responsibility is to facilitate access to information and resources, enabling these women to overcome self identified barriers and become more actively engaged in and included within Canadian society. Additionally, you will promote health information and resources available at the Health Center, thereby enhancing the capacity of women in your community to live healthy, dignified lives.

Client Experience Survey Data Collection
Throughout the year, the Health Centre collects important data from clients to inform and support future decision-making. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to assist in two key areas: helping clients complete surveys and inputting collected data. If you enjoy working with people and want to contribute to the future success of the Health Centre, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact

Volunteer Ambassador
The Volunteer Ambassador plays a versatile role at the Health Centre, contributing to a variety of key activities. This position supports events, performs administrative tasks for the volunteer program, assists with data collection, and can be called upon to help with other Health Centre needs. If you’re someone who enjoys a dynamic environment and wants to gain experience in different areas, this is a great opportunity to make an impact across the organization.

Tai Chi Volunteer
Our Tai Chi program is supported by volunteers, including the instructor. Each week, Tai Chi volunteers help prepare the space for seniors’ Tai Chi sessions by setting up the room, making coffee and tea, and arranging light snacks. This role ensures a welcoming and comfortable environment for participants, while fostering community connection and wellbeing.
